The LBB Chapters of Cottleville, O’Fallon, St Charles and Wentzville Chapters came together to launch the first annual St. Charles County Sharing is Beautiful, Period Campaign, a community outreach effort which ran from February 1st – April 15th. The campaign was designed to educate the public on period poverty, eliminate the luxury tax on feminine hygiene items in Missouri and provide products directly to local schools in St. Charles County. Donations were made through monetary donations, Amazon Wish list purchases and drop location partners, which included: Aerie Lane, Chillax St. Peters, CottageCare St. Charles, Detail Driven Car Wash, Fox & Riley Real Estate, Ready Train Go, Drip City Med Spa, Rise Family Chiropractic, Solutions By Shaver, Southern Grace Coffee, Winter-Dent & Company, Mindset Nutrition, 608 Chic - Boutique On Main, Dragonfly Wellness, LLC, CORE Physical Therapy and The Maids of St. Charles County. To close the campaign, on Thursday, April 11th all 4 chapters hosted a Mix and Mingle at The Quarry Wine Garden. Guest enjoyed mingling, musical stylings from The Jack Pordea and shopping with a variety of vendors including: Blue Empress Tarot, LLC, Days for Girls, Earth + Fire Creations, Essential Rejuvenation Medical Esthetics, Inside Out Body Solutions, La Te Da’s Boutique, LBB Publishing, MidWest SoftWash, Park Lane Jewelry, Rise Chiropractic, Mom Buns and Ruffles and Touchstone Crystal. Kim Cavaretta of the Wentzville Chapter was the lucky winner of the one-of-a-kind purse raffle! The Mix and Mingle event brought in just over$1,200 in monetary donations and an additional 6,500 in-kind feminine product donations. The community outreach chairs applied for the Operation Round Up grant through the Cuivre River Electric Community Trust and were proudly awarded $2,500, which was directly allocated towards purchases of additional products. Overall, 43,905 products were collected during the campaign (estimated at a value over $11,000), which will be distributed to over 20 public and private schools, as well as several social agencies throughout St. Charles County by the end of May. A great turn out for the O'Fallon Chapter's Mix and Mingle on April 5th! 30 people attended the event to support the Child Advocacy Center and Youth in Need. A total of $858.60 was donated in tottal to the two organizations.
About the Child Advocacy Center: The Child Advocacy Center of Northeast Missouri serves children disclosing sexual abuse, physical abuse, and children who witness violence. Since opening our doors in 2000, our staff and community partners have been the front-line responders to reports of child abuse. Our organization exists to protect children, heal families and prevent abuse. The primary goal of The Child Advocacy Center is to ensure that children disclosing abuse are not further victimized by the intervention systems designed to protect them. Services offered include forensic interviews, children and family advocacy, mental health therapy, and school and community-based prevention education programs. About Youth In Need: Youth In Need has been serving the greater St. Louis area since 1974, when volunteers reached out to the agency’s first client. A teenage runaway, who left her home after another beating, was picked up on the streets and taken to the local jail with adult criminals. Troubled by the community’s response to runaway and homeless teens, volunteers changed the way these teens were treated by opening Youth In Need’s Emergency Shelter. Today, more than 400 full- and part-time staff serve more than 8,000 of the area’s most vulnerable children, teens and families at nearly 100 locations in six counties in eastern Missouri. We are excited to announce the collection our St Clair County Chapter of Little Black Book completed for the Metro East Diaper Bank. We had so much support from our members and the community to kick off 2024! We celebrated at Mix and Mingles, Women’s Day, decorating cookies and learning at a Business Leadership event. We donated $5,299.20 in items:
Our Riverbend Chapter in Illinois held a Mix & Mingle and donated $200 to Sacred Spaces of Care. Sacred Spaces of CARE was founded and organized as an intentional effort to increase awareness of how trauma impacts our community. They believe that education of trauma and its affects, leads to a deeper understanding of the healing journey and allows us to more appropriately advocate for ourselves and respond to the needs of others.

The West County chapter held a speed friending event for Faith Through Fire. They raised $1,219.50. They have a goal to raise $3000 to help 12 women receive EMDR Therapy.
Their goal is simple. If you want to get better instead of bitter after a breast cancer diagnosis, they are there to help. Their programs and partnerships are specially designed to help you navigate breast cancer easier and improve your quality of life during and after treatment. The Jefferson County chapter supported Mary's House of Hope during a recent event where they collected toiletries and clothing items for men, women, and kids. Their total donated was $6,077 to Mary's House of Hope.
Mary's House of Hopes goal is to transition the women from the emergency shelter (A Safe Place) to independent living, free from violence and fear for one to two years at Mary’s House of Hope. The chapter gathered together at the St. Louis Diaper Bank to network and build Diaper and Flow kits that will be distributed throughout the community to those in need. We donated over $100 in cash and several boxes of items for the kits. We enjoyed meeting LBB members from around the region and some members of the local Junior League.
